Interesting fact about Anatori crypts: In order to protect the life of the villagers from the deadly disease in the village, diseased Anatorians were going to the crypts by themselves and waiting for the death among the remains of the predecessors. You can see their remains within the tour.
Day 1: Tbilisi-Ananuri-Gudauri-Stepantsminda-Juta
Depart from Tbilisi to Stepantsminda: Ananuri medieval castle-complex – view on the sky-blue water reservoir / Natural mineral water spring/ Gudauri monument and breathtaking views on the gorge/ Gergeti trinity church(14th c.)-2200MASL-views on Mt.Kazbek (5047MASL) and borough Stepantsminda/Drive to Juta and the start of hiking tour to Chaukhi pass./ Take break at the special zone for travellers (you can buy food and drinks)/ To overnight, continue the road to the camping, near Chaukhi.
Day 2: Juta-Roshka
The road continues to the Chaukhi pass/Walking down to the Abudelauri colorful lakes – White Lake(2812MASL), after 60-40mins. Blue Lake (2580 MASL.) At about 0,1km away – Green Lake (2600 MASL) on the route you will meet Roshka Nature Monument – one of the world’s biggest glacial erratics. Walking distance from the lakes to Roshka village – about 15 km/ Overnight at Roshka.
Day 3: Roshka-Shatili-Mutso
After breakfast, drive to Shatili: Datvijvari pass(2676MASL)/You will see Leabiskari tower, Kistani castle, Kachu(Tkhori) castle/Castle-village Shatili(tentative list of UNESCO)/Anatori crypts/Ruins of castle-village Mutso/Overnight in tents.
Day 4: Mutso-Tbilisi
